October 19, 2007 - Join us for Pink in the Park!

Pink in the Park is a breast cancer awareness event sponsored by The Breast Center of Greensboro Imaging that’s free and open to everyone, not just women! On Friday, October 19, stop by Center City Park in Downtown Greensboro from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. to get some great information about breast cancer awareness and visit some of the exhibitors in the park.

There will be live music by the Dave Fox Group, flu shots, free chair massages, free paraffin dips and many other activities.

You can even participate in Call & Tell 2, an initiative to help spread the message of breast cancer awareness beyond the physical boundaries of the park. Everyone who participates in Call & Tell 2 will be entered into a drawing for a fabulous prize from a local spa!

Other door prizes will also be available, so come and spend some time at Pink in the Park. Or better yet, invite your friends, bring your lunch and enjoy the festivities!

March 20, 2007 - The Nuclear Medicine section of Greensboro Imaging at Wendover Medical Center announces the addition of new procedural services beginning March 1, 2007. The additional procedures include Thyroid Uptake, Thyroid Imaging, Parathyroid Imaging, I 131 Whole Body Imaging with and without Thyrogen injections and RAIU Therapy for thyroid cancer or hyperthyroidism. GREENSBORO IMAGING AT WENDOVER MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNES NEW ULTRASOUND UNIT- Greensboro Imagingat Wendover Medical Center is happy to announce that they have purchased and installed an additional ultrasound unit to accomodate the growing need for ultrasound studies inthe Triad Region. The new ultrasound unit is a Siemens Antares, one of the most technologically advanced systems currently on the market today. Greensboro Imaging at Wendover Medical Center will now have two ultrasound units to perform all general ultrasound procedures. This will enhance Greensboro Imgaing's ability to provide quick qppointments for patients with the highest quality interpretations performed by the Board Certified radiologists of Greensboro Radiology Associates.

Dr. Gretchen E. Green has joined the staff of Greensboro Imaging. A graduate of Brown University, Green was a resident at the Yale School of Medicine and a Brigham and Women’s Hospital Clinical Fellow in Women’s Imaging at Harvard Medical School.

She also was recognized nationally as the Lucy Frank Squire Distinguished Resident in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Association for Women Radiologists.

Detecting Colon Cancer from Outside the Body -
A new way to detect colon cancer without an invasive colonoscopy might help lower the death rate from this form of cancer in the Piedmont. It’s called virtual colonoscopy, and it uses a CT scan plus powerful computer software to find the polyps that can cause colon cancer without ever touching the body.
