Our Mobile Mammography unit travels to where patients are to make breast cancer screening more convenient for women in Guilford, Rockingham, Randolph, and Alamance counties. This 45-foot, wheelchair-accessible motor coach offers workplaces, community health events and underprivileged communities access to state-of-the-art mammography equipment and the same level of care provided at our facilities.
What to Expect
The Mobile Mammography unit offers private changing rooms and is staffed with board-certified radiologists. Mammograms are performed as they would be in any of our DRI Greensboro Imaging permanent locations, with a machine compressing the breast to provide a quality digital image of breast tissue.
The procedure takes about 10 minutes and is covered at 100% by most insurance providers. Results will be mailed to you in 7–14 days unless follow-up imaging is requested.

Who is Eligible for Mobile Mammograms?
There are no income requirements or physician referrals needed. The mobile unit serves women 35+ who:
- Have not received a mammogram in the last 12 months
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are not currently experiencing breast concerns
